Farhan Akhtar on DIL DHADAKNE DO song leak: Have no clue about it
Reports suggest that Zoya Akhtar's DIL DHADAKNE DO song was leaked from the editing studio, and it caused the director fuming with anger! The security on movie sets was thereafter also beefed up to make sure this incidence did not take place again.

Zoya's brother, DIL DHADAKNE DO producer and actor Farhan Akhtar, however seemed clueless when quizzed about the same.

"I have no clue about it (giggles). So, I don't know what to say to you," said Farhan.

But when we asked him generally about Varun Dhawan- Shraddha Kapoor's ABCD 2 poster leak, he said, "In all honesty, every filmmaker will want to have control of their plans/ strategies- to release any publicity material/ clip of their film/ any material. So if somebody has leaked something out, the appropriate people need to be dealt with by the production."

Farhan Akhtar will soon be seen in Zoya Akhtar directed DIL DHADAKNE DO, WAZIR, RAEES and ROCK ON!! 2.

Revathi: I don't want MARGARITA WITH A STRAW type of films to happen on regular basis
Actress and filmmaker Revathi has always been part of sensitive subjects but the recently released Kalki Koechlin starrer MARGARITA WITH A STRAW, saw her in a much complicated and delicate role. She not only played a cerebral palsy-affected girl's (essayed by Kalki) mother but Revathi's character is also shown suffering from brain cancer in the film.

When asked about playing such a complicated role, she begged to differ, "My role was not complicated. It was simple, truthful and a natural role. The complication was in the script as it was highly sensitive and sensitively written. I just had to be there and understand. I did what they (makers) needed and it was really easy."

Revathi, who has been very selective about her work, enjoyed doing a film like MARGARITA. In fact she was waiting for such a role for a long time.

"I enjoyed playing a role like this after a long time which is very real and in every way good. I have been waiting for such role for a long time. Though it was nothing new for me, as in the past I did a film like ANJALI, where I had played the mother of a disabled child, it was refreshing to do this film. From that point onwards I have also been supporting an organization. I know so many parents who have children suffering from some disease. I have grown up on them," she says

Revathi further adds, "But the film MARGARITA WITH A STRAW is not about creating awareness or educating about the disability but the fact that even they have their rights, like everybody they have a life, and they also can experience same emotions. Kudos to Shonali Bose (the director) to bring such kind of film in the mainstream cinema! Shonali has made such a beautiful film that I wish I could have made it."

Though Revathi endorses such films, she doesn't want it to happen on everyday basis. According to her, MARGARITA WITH A STRAW type of films are rare.

"MARGARITA is a rare, selective type of film from a sensitive director like Shonali. You will not have more such films happening every now and then. And I don't even want it to happen on regular base...Such movies come once in a lifetime. These kinds of films are truthful and they should be cherished," says the actress, who has been around in the film industry for more than two decades.

Revathi is all praise for her on-screen daughter Kalki's caliber. "Kalki is a very committed actor, simple and looks girl next-door," she says

MARGARITA WITH A STRAW released all over on April 17 and has opened to mixed reviews.

New releases are dull, Emraan Hashmi's MR. X (3D) leads!
As was the likely scenario, the new releases of the current week- Bhatts' venture, MR. X (3D), the Kalki Koechlin starrer, MARGARITA WITH A STRAW, as also the mythological NANAK SHAH FAKIR, have opened to a very dull start. And as said in our box-office report, it was Emraan Hashmi's MR. X which led, but as the hype was missing (unlike the team's previous ventures), it was a dull 20-25 percent (on an average) start, with the higher occupancies for the 3D version. As per the makers the film has netted 5.50 crore during the opening day. The film will have to work hard during the remaining days of the weekend to see a turnaround in its fortune.

Meanwhile, last week's Sunny Leone starrer, EK PAHELI LEELA, could not quite capitalize on a decent 15 crore opening weekend, during the weekdays, despite the single screens putting up a good show. The film ended the opening week netting in the 22-24 crore band as per early estimates. Having said that, given the very reasonable 17.50 crore investment, EK PAHELI LEELA will turn out to be another profitable venture for T-Series and the head honcho Bhushan Kumar.

The other release of the same week as LEELA, Paresh Rawal's DHARAM SANKAT MEIN, failed to make a mark netting around 8 crore (to be validated) during the opening week, and has failed commercially.

Last but not the least, Chaitanya Tamhane's National Award winning Court has opened to a great response from the audience as well as brilliant reviews from the critics, wherever it has released.

How Sahir Ludhianvi came to Yash Chopra's rescue!
The most striking thing that will arrest your eyes at filmmaker Yash Chopra's office is the portrait of eminent lyricist and his dear friend Sahir Ludhianvi, reminding about their eternal friendship that stood rock solid even during crisis.

Though their relation dates back to early 50s when young Yash Chopra assisted his elder brother B. R. Chopra at B.R. Films. However the their friendship consolidated into strong bound when Sahir helped Yash Chopra at a time, when the film industry folks had deserted him and his elder brother B. R. Chopra parted ways.

Readers may be aware that in the early 70s the two Chopra brothers parted ways and Yash Chopra had to start from the scratch. However, Yash Chopra was confident of making it on his own with his experience and esteem in Bollywood. But alas his confidence was left jolted when the financers and the near and dear ones left him on crossroad the moment he left the B.R. Chopra camp!

At this crucial time it was his dear friend Sahir Ludhianvi came to his rescue. He not only arranged finance from a financial institution on his own guarantee but also convinced, Gulshan Nanda, the top most writers of the 60s to pen an intriguing love story for Yash Chopra's debut film. Thus was born Yash Raj Banner's first film DAAG, a poem of love, starring Rajesh Khanna, Sharmila Tagore and Rakhee.

Interestingly, when the stars came to know about the financial crises they too did the film free of charge!

The movie was a huge hit and even fetched Yash Chopra 'Best Director Filmfare Award'.

With the immense success of the movie, Yash Chopra paid twice the sum to all the stars and crew who had worked complimentary!!

PIKU: Jisshu Sengupta's disclosures about Amitabh, Irrfan & Deepika!
Actor Jisshu Sengupta has worked in some of the most prestigious films- BOSE: The FORGOTTEN HERO, THE LAST LEAR, BARFI! and MARDANI, to name a few. And we are not even talking about his Bengali films like CHOKHER BALI, NAUKADOOBI etc.

Jisshu will next be seen in Shoojit Sircar's PIKU, once again featuring Amitabh Bachchan (like in THE LAST LEAR), along with Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone. Giving reason for being so selective, Jisshu says, "Yeah you are right. I have been lucky to work with quality directors like Shyam Benegal, (late) Rituporno Ghosh, Shoojit Sircar, Aparna Sen etc. Actually I believe in quality work and as I have been getting good projects regularly I did not venture much elsewhere. But that does not mean that I will not work in big commercial ventures. You know I was also offered KAHAANI but unfortunately I could not do it"

Talking about PIKU, Amitabh, Irrfan and Deepika, the actor says, "Amitabh Bachchan is a legend and there is such a lot to learn from this humble giant. I have been lucky to work with him twice, though this time I just have one scene with him. Irrfan is another nice person, but once the camera rolls he becomes something else. Deepika is very sweet but does not talk much on the sets. Coming to my character, in PIKU I play a small but important role. My character is cute and sweet," concludes Jisshu.
